The good news about digital photography is that you can take tons of pictures with no regard for the price of photo developing. You get to see all of the pictures for free. The bad news, is there's no physical evidence of your photos. Sure you get to see them on your computer, but they’re in digital format.

The problem is that if your computer crashes, the images get corrupted or there’s a flood or a hurricane, you can lose them all. All of your vacations, birthdays, first steps, self portraits... gone.

But there’s something you can do to protect yourself and your digital memories. Back up the digital pics on your computer to a few CD-Rs. Then keep all of those discs organized and in a safe place. Just in case.
