    TV Stands

Since sometime in the late 70s, nary a TV has existed that wasn't attached to an electronic box of some sort. It started with things like an Atari Pong game console, cable box or BetaMax VCR. Now it's a DVD Recorder, PlayStation, Satellite receiver or TiVo.

Really, who uses a TV with just an "antenna" jutting off of it? Is some big antenna back east really going to "broadcast" some sort of digital analog signal that your TV is going to "magically" pull from the air? Are you only going to watch Mary Tyler Moore reruns? OK, no. To make full use of your Flat-Panel TV, you know you’re going to plug it into your digital cable for the pay-per-view WrestleMania, your satellite dish for the Food Channel, or a DVD player for the kids to watch Finding Nemo for the 37th time.

But here's the rub. You can't just stack the TV on top of that VCR or DVD player. Your TV is heavy. It weighs at least like 40 lbs. It'll crush your poor component. And on top of that, it won't look that good. Unless you have an entertainment center in every room, you need someplace to stash that TV add-on. Because your bedroom dresser, the kitchen counter, a home office bookshelf and your old high school desk in the playroom were not intended to hold a flat-panel TV, let alone a cable receiver or X-Box.
